Events - Event View

The kids tri is for kids up to 12 years old and suitable for kids that would find the regular course to be too challenging. 

Swim - Approximate distance = 20-25 yards.  There will be a short swim off the beach where the kids can either swim with or without flotation assistance.  A parent must be available to supervise the child from the beach or in the water.  If the child requires a flotation device a parent must be in the water with their child.

Bike - Approximate distance = 0.5 miles.  The bike ride will be down near the lake and up and down Cedar Grove.  Kids must be able to ride a regular 2 wheel bike, a bike with training wheels, or a balance bike. The regular kids tri bike route follows the road parallel to the beach then turns up Cedar Grove.  Participants will do 2 out and back trips up a portion of Cedar Grove before moving on to the run.  Kids on a bike with training wheels or a balance bike will complete a single trip along the road parallel to the beach and back before beginning the run.  A parent must be present to direct or assist kids on a bike with training wheels or a balance bike.  All kids MUST wear a helmet during the bike regardless of the type of bike they are using.
 
Run - Approximate distance = 0.25 miles.  The run will be a single out and back along a portion of Maplewood Road and finish next to the beach.

Volunteers & Parents - Participants in the regular Clair Cloutier Try the Tri are asked to assist as course volunteers during the kids race.  We also ask that parents cheer on the kids and help along the course when not supervising / directing a child during the swim or bike portions.  The more assistance we have the easier it will be to keep the kids safe during the bike and run portions of the race.  We appreciate your assistance!
